It's with a heavy heart that I write this as I put this campaign together. Oscarito (pictured with red glasses) turned five this year. He is so bright and loving. He loves his cars, facts about planets, and cooking.
He was taken into the emergency room a couple of days ago, after getting sick and not being responsive. While at the hospital, he started suffering seizures and convulsions, which led to him being medically evacuated by helicopter to Loma Linda Children's Hospital.
Oscarito is now in a medically induced coma, and early test results show that he suffered from an autoimmune disease that has led to it attacking the brain. As of now, there is some hope that he will come out of the coma, but he will not be the same. Doctors said it's unclear about the brain damage and more than likely he'll have to learn to walk again, talk again, etc., and that is the best-case scenario.
My brother, his dad, pictured here, is an AMAZING and LOVING person. His life has not been easy and he was and has been a rock for my sister and I. Even though we are not brothers by blood, he helped raise us and navigate the environment we grew up in. It breaks my heart that he has to go through this. He is self-employed and does not have the capacity to be with his son in the hospital while working. He's a hard worker and will do anything for his kids. The hospital is about 1.5 hours away from where they live and work, and expenses are starting to pile up as they look to be close to Oscarito.
I hope we can raise enough money to help them with bills and other expenses for the next couple of months as they learn more about Oscarito's condition. Any help, and I mean ANY help, is greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your help and support. God Bless
