Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Kerrin, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friends Tayvia and Branson and their family during an incredibly challenging time. Their sweet little boy, Greyson, is a bright-eyed, energetic kid who loves playing with his toys, laughing with his siblings, and bringing joy to everyone around him. But at just 2 years of age, Greyson has been bravely battling Type 1 Diabetes—a condition that requires constant monitoring, insulin injections, and careful management to keep him healthy and safe.

Tragically, the whole family recently came down with COVID, and this illness triggered a severe episode of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in Greyson.

Greysons condition took a terrifying turn while they were in St. George Utah. He was hospitalized and almost sent home, but Tayvias motherly instinct knew something more serious was wrong, and a CT was ordered. Quickly things escalated into a life-threatening emergency when he developed cerebral edema—a dangerous swelling of the brain that required immediate, specialized intervention.

Greyson had to be life-flighted between hospitals multiple times to get the urgent care he needed, ultimately being transferred to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, for expert treatment in their pediatric intensive care unit.

Watching this unfold has been heartbreaking for Tayvia, Branson and their entire family. Greyson is fighting hard, but the road to recovery is long and filled with uncertainty, including ongoing treatments, medications, and follow-up appointments.

To make matters even tougher, Greyson’s dad Branson has had to put his job on hold to stay by his son’s side at the hospital, providing the love and support Greyson needs right now. This means lost wages at a time when medical bills are piling up fast—from the life flight, hospital stays, specialist consultations, and all the equipment needed to manage his diabetes long-term.

Greyson needs both his mom, and dad by his side to support him through this scary time.

That’s why we’ve started this GoFundMe—to rally around this loving family and help ease their load. Your generous donations will go directly toward covering medical expenses, replacing lost income so Dad can focus on Greyson’s recovery without added stress, and ensuring the family has the resources they need for Greyson’s ongoing care.
