My younger brother Lewis has been in the ICU for over two weeks, fighting for his life. He is loved by so many and is a caring Son, loving Dad, adored Pappa, awesome Uncle.

Just weeks ago, Lewis was the person everyone called when something broke — the one who could fix anything, no matter the situation. Now, he’s facing severe heart failure, along with new complications affecting his liver, and a long, uncertain road ahead.

Lewis is still hospitalized as a team of doctors work to create a plan for his recovery. If he pulls through — and we are holding onto that hope — he will need extensive rehabilitation, ongoing medical care, and support at home. This will not be a short recovery. It will be a long and difficult one.

Lewis has two grown daughters and four grandchildren.

He is also the sole provider for his 9-year-old daughter, who depends on him for everything. With Lewis unable to work and no health insurance, the financial strain is already overwhelming. In addition to mounting medical bills from his two week ICU stay, there are immediate needs like housing, daily living expenses, and caring for his daughter.

We are raising funds to help cover:

• ICU and hospital expenses

• Rehabilitation and home care

• Monthly housing and basic needs for Lewis and his daughter

• Transportation expenses for extended family
