Over the past six months, Leanna and Mike have been trying to understand some ongoing health issues Leanna has been facing. After countless appointments and a lot of uncertainty, Leanna received a strong impression to get a CT scan. Within hours of visiting the urgent care she was in surgery removing two large tumors—one nearly 10 pounds on her ovary and another in her colon.

Leanna has since been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Her doctors believe they were able to remove everything visible, and current scans show no evidence of disease. There is still more testing and treatment ahead, but we are holding onto a lot of hope.

The love and support already shown—meals, help with the kids, messages, prayers - has been overwhelming. It has truly carried their family through some really hard days. In spite of a life-altering diagnosis, the Ames family has seen so much good and have felt peace and comfort from the Savior. They know He is in control, and can work miracles!

As the family moves forward, there will be ongoing medical costs and time away from work while focusing on healing. We wanted to create a way for those who have asked how to help to be able to support Leanna's healing journey during this time.
