Update:Kevin continues to make incredible progress after arriving at the hospital on May 16, 2026 with an intracranial hemorrhage and stroke. What started as the scariest day of our lives has slowly turned into days filled with determination, hard work, and hope.
On May 25th, Kevin officially moved from the NSICU to a step-down unit. A huge milestone in his recovery journey. Since then, the focus has shifted heavily toward rehab and therapy.
Every single day he continues to show improvement. He’s now walking around the unit with assistance and a walker, often twice a day because he’s so determined to keep moving. Occupational therapy has been working closely with his right hand and arm strength, even incorporating games like cornhole into therapy sessions to help rebuild coordination. His speech continues to improve daily as well.
Kevin’s drive and stubborn determination have amazed everyone caring for him. The nurses, therapists, and doctors continue to tell us how hard he’s working and how strong he is mentally through all of this.
While we are incredibly thankful for the progress being made, this is still just the beginning of a long recovery process. Kevin will continue to need extensive therapy, follow-up care, and rehabilitation in the months ahead.
We cannot thank everyone enough for the prayers, donations, messages, and support. Every single share, donation, and encouraging word has helped carry our family through this unimaginable time.
