On Monday, January 19th, our world was turned upside down when Kari was rushed to the hospital after experiencing difficulty breathing. After several tests, doctors discovered a mass in her chest along with swollen lymph nodes near her thyroid. Since then, Kari has been receiving care at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, where the medical team has been nothing short of incredible.
Kari began her chemotherapy treatments Friday evening, and by Saturday she was already starting to feel a bit better—an encouraging sign that gives us hope as we move forward. While we are grateful for this early progress, we know this is just the beginning of a long and challenging road.
As Kari focuses on her treatments and healing, we are coming together to support her in every way we can. The financial burden that comes with cancer care can be overwhelming, and this page was created to help ease that stress so Kari can concentrate on what matters most: getting better.
All prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes are deeply appreciated. We are holding onto hope and looking forward to the day we get to see Kari ring that bell, marking the end of this journey and the start of a new chapter. Thank you for your love, support, and generosity—it truly means more than words can say.
