Love & Health: Supporting My Courageous Recovery Journey
Hello Friends…. I welcome you to open your hearts to support me in my long and challenging medical journey.
For those who know me, you know how much I love my family, nature, travel, and of course, my work within the casino gaming industry. I love to sing, dance, teach, cook, share meals neighbors and stories with strangers, care for my pets, and spend time at the park or hiking with my grandson. I cherish simple moments—like going for a ride with my husband or just holding his hand. After 32 years of marriage, not being able to comfortably hold hands or sleep beside him due to pain has been one of the hardest parts of my journey. Not being able to hold my grandson tightly or see my children’s full smile without my glasses on.
What began as small, unexplained symptoms turned into something life-changing. One day, I could no longer walk on my right foot or feel my right hand. The right side of my face swelled, I lost my smile, my hair began to fall out, my skin changed color, and neuropathy crept into all parts of my body—including my core. My lungs and heart were not functioning properly, and even sleeping became difficult due to breathing issues and constant pain.
After years of searching for answers, I was diagnosed with rare and life-altering conditions: Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (Pseudotumor Cerebri), a severe B1 deficiency, cardiac issues, and additional spinal and cervical complications.
These conditions have caused extensive nerve damage throughout my body—especially on my right side, as well as affecting both hands, feet, face, and jaw. What once were simple, everyday tasks are now overwhelming challenges. Walking, talking, breathing comfortably, washing my hair, and even basic daily routines require immense effort. I live with constant uncomfort, extreme fatigue, and mental fog that makes each day difficult to navigate. My mornings always start out great, but by the end of the day, I am exhausted as if I have run a marathon.
I barely like to speak due to strain on my vocal cords. At times, the damage has felt like stroke-like effects on my nervous system, brain, fascia, and entire right side of my body, including my face.
Yet despite it all—I am still here, still fighting. Through Jesus, my Lord Savior, my body is healing. There is HOPE.
Through ongoing treatments such as IVIG therapy, physical rehabilitation, and mental health support—along with care from multiple specialists including neurological, orthopedic, and therapeutic care providers—I am beginning to see improvement. Feeling is slowly returning, and I am learning how to live in and adapt to this new body, even with permanent limitations. Every day I regain strength, mobility, and as much independence as possible. This time is critical for my healing and long-term outcome.
There is still a chance that a stent or shunt placement is needed to redirect Cranial Spinal Fluid (CSF) building up in my skull, pressing on my pituitary gland.
Because I am allergic to many medications, to help with the CSF flow issue I have been incorporating holistic approaches such as meditation, sound frequency therapy, and natural herbal remedies like dandelion, vitamins, and turmeric to help manage pain and support my body.
Through it all, my faith has carried me.
THERE IS HOPE IN GOD, THROUGH JESUS & MOTHER MARY
My strength comes from Jesus Christ! The love I have for my life, family, friends, and the support of those around me keep me going.
However, this journey comes at a significant cost. The medical expenses for treatments, therapies, and ongoing specialist care are quickly adding up, especially during a time when it’s hard for me to live life as I once did.
This is where I humbly ask for help.
I am seeking “Spiritual & Health Sponsors”—kind-hearted individuals willing to stand beside me during this fight. Donations will go directly towards:
• IVIG treatments
• Physical and neurological rehabilitation
• Specialist care (neurology, orthopedic, therapy)
• Mental health support
• Ongoing recovery needs during this critical time
• Surgeon consultations in Los Angeles Cedar Sinai
Every donation—no matter the size—makes a real difference in my healing process. Even more than that, your love, prayers, and encouragement remind me that I am not alone. Living here in Southern California, far from many of my loved ones in Kansas City, aka #ChiefsKingdom, your support means everything to me.
If you are unable to give, please consider sharing my health journey.
Together, we can turn HOPE into HEALING.
Together, we heal.
Together, we live.
Together, we love.
Together, we support.
Thank you for being part of my journey.
With love and faith,
Jatonia Lynn
