Help Support Jake’s Journey to Healing: Kidney & Pancreas Transplant
Hi, my name is Ann Marie Cross Codron , and I’m writing on behalf of my best friend Jessica’s baby brother, Jake, and his wife, Holly.
At just 15 years old, Jake was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes — a diagnosis that forever changed the course of his life. Over the years, he has endured countless doctor visits, hospital stays, and the daily demands of managing a chronic illness, all while remaining strong, compassionate, and resilient.
Just months before Jake and Holly were set to be married, their world shifted when Jake was diagnosed with kidney failure. What should have been a season of pure joy quickly became one filled with uncertainty and difficult decisions. Still, they chose to move forward together — beginning their marriage with courage, faith, and deep love.
This past year, Jake began dialysis, a physically and emotionally exhausting treatment that has dramatically impacted his health and daily life. For Jake and Holly, dialysis became part of their reality as newlyweds — shaping their routines, limiting their freedom, and redefining what their first year of marriage would look like. Recently, they celebrated one year of marriage, a testament to their strength and unwavering commitment to one another.
Now, there is hope.
Jake and Holly are preparing to undergo his surgery this evening at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for a life-saving kidney and pancreas transplant, made possible solely because someone made the selfless decision to become an organ donor. This complex, three-hour surgery represents more than a medical procedure — it offers Jake the chance at renewed health, freedom from dialysis, and a life no longer defined by diabetes.
Recovery will take at least three months, during which time Jake will be unable to work and will have limited income. Between medical care, travel, lodging, and everyday expenses, the financial strain during this time is significant.
If you are able to give, no donation is too small — every contribution helps ease the burden and allows Jake to focus on healing. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser or keeping Jake and Holly in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for supporting Jake as he takes this courageous step toward healing, renewed health, and a future full of hope.
With love and gratitude,
Ann Marie Cross Codron
