Hi, my name is Taylor, and I’m raising funds for my 14-year-old brother, Emerson.

On what started as a normal evening, Emerson suddenly told his mom, Connie, that his heart felt like it was racing. Shortly after, he went into cardiac arrest. He was without a heartbeat for an extended period before doctors were able to revive him.

Emerson was transported by ambulance from Appleton, Wisconsin to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, where he is currently in the Pediatric ICU. He is in a medically induced coma as doctors work to protect his brain and stabilize his heart.

Doctors have since diagnosed Emerson with Wolff–Parkinson–White (WPW) syndrome, a congenital heart condition that causes dangerous, rapid heart rhythms. While this diagnosis explains what happened and is treatable, Emerson still has a long road ahead, including an upcoming heart procedure and continued intensive care.

We are incredibly thankful to share that some of Emerson’s organs — including his kidneys — are functioning better than doctors initially expected, which gives us hope as we continue to pray and trust God for healing.

The financial burden of this medical emergency is overwhelming. Between the ambulance transport, extended ICU stay, upcoming heart surgery, travel to Milwaukee, time missed from work, and long-term care needs, the costs are significant. Insurance coverage is limited, and we are already facing expenses far beyond what the family can manage alone.

We are asking for support to help ease the financial stress on his mom, Connie, and his dad, Todd, so they can focus fully on Emerson’s care and recovery.

Above all, we believe in the power of prayer. We trust that God is present in every detail — in the hands of the doctors, in each small improvement, and in the community surrounding Emerson with love and support.
