Dora and Raúl survived a very serious car accident and are now facing a long road to recovery. Dorita suffered significant injuries but, thankfully, will not require additional surgeries. Dora y Raúl estuvieron involucrados en un accidente automovilístico muy grave, y es un verdadero milagro que ambos sigan con vida. Aunque el proceso de recuperación para Dorita será largo, hoy tenemos motivos para agradecer y mantener la esperanza.

La pareja viajaba de Phoenix a Las Cruces cuando un tráiler los impactó de costado. El impacto fue tan fuerte que el vehículo dio seis vueltas.

Raúl sufrió golpes en la cabeza y fue trasladado a un hospital cercano a Deming para recibir atención médica. Afortunadamente, se encuentra estable. Dorita fue quien recibió la mayor parte del impacto y, en un principio, se pensó que había sufrido múltiples fracturas y que necesitaría varias cirugías. Gracias a Dios, tras evaluaciones más recientes se confirmó que no tiene tantas fracturas como se temía y que no requiere cirugías adicionales. Un médico incluso comentó que es un milagro que haya sobrevivido a golpes tan severos.

Debido a la gravedad de su condición, Dorita fue trasladada en helicóptero a El Paso. Salió bien de la cirugía de la muñeca y ya ha comenzado terapias físicas. Aunque siente dolor, ella misma dice que “no está tan mal”. Siempre ha sido una mujer fuerte, positiva y luchadora.

En este momento, Raúl se encuentra a su lado junto con su hijo, acompañándola y apoyándola durante este proceso. Sus hijas se turnarán para cuidarla en casa conforme avance su recuperación. Dorita y Raúl son profundamente amados por su familia, su iglesia y su comunidad.

Aunque ya están en contacto con un abogado, los gastos inmediatos ya han comenzado a acumularse. Entre ellos se incluyen los costos de transporte, la hospitalización de Raúl en una ciudad distinta, el equipo médico necesario para el cuidado de Dorita en casa, la fisioterapia y la posible transportación médica entre El Paso y Phoenix. Por esta razón, acudimos humildemente a ustedes para pedir su apoyo.

Aún no sabemos con exactitud cuánto dinero será necesario, pero las necesidades inmediatas están relacionadas con el cuidado, la movilidad y el acompañamiento familiar durante este proceso de recuperación.

Dora and Raúl were involved in a very serious car accident, and it is truly a miracle that they are both still alive. While Dorita’s recovery will take time, we are grateful to share that there is hope and encouraging progress ahead.

They were traveling from Phoenix to Las Cruces when a semi-truck struck their vehicle from the side. The impact was so severe that their vehicle rolled six times.

Raúl suffered head injuries and was transported to a hospital near Deming for treatment. Thankfully, he is now in stable condition. Dorita sustained the most severe impact, and at first it was believed that she had multiple broken bones and would require several surgeries. Thankfully, after further evaluations, doctors confirmed that she does not have as many fractures as initially feared and that no additional surgeries are needed. One doctor even remarked that it is a miracle she survived such severe trauma.

Due to the seriousness of her condition, Dorita was airlifted by helicopter to El Paso. She successfully underwent wrist surgery and has already begun physical therapy. Although she is experiencing pain, she remains positive and says she’s “not doing too badly.” She has always been strong, resilient, and determined.

At this time, Raúl is by her side along with their son, supporting her throughout this recovery. Their daughters will take turns helping care for Dorita at home as she continues to heal. Dora and Raúl are deeply loved by their family, church, and community.

Although they are already in contact with an attorney, immediate expenses have begun to add up. These include transportation costs, Raúl’s hospitalization in a separate city, hotels, medical equipment needed for in-home care, physical therapy, and possible medical transportation between El Paso and Phoenix. For these reasons, we humbly ask for your support.

At this time, we do not know exactly how much money will be needed, but the most urgent needs relate to care, mobility, and family support during this recovery process.
