I love this platform. This part of social media. Life changing things have happened and it is beautiful to see. I have a sweet friend, Cheri Edmunds. Actually, her entire family has touched mine in some way.... When I married Jon I met her Mom who was a known and respected real estate agent. Fast forward 20 years...my son became very good friends with hers. Her girls are all very active in our church and their bright smiles touch everyone. Cheri and her hubby Rex serve as my children's Sunday School teachers, giving back constantly.
Sometimes, Cheri has to take a pause. Because Cheri has now been fighting cancer for 5 years. She is brave, she is...SO smart. Everyone who knows her would say, although she is always positive and cheery, it absolutely breaks our hearts she is dealing with this.
The timeline looks like this -

1. 3/15/21 Stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis
2. 3/17/21 left colectomy
3. 12 rounds of chemo 4/21 to 11/21
4. 11/2022 Stage 4 Mets to liver
5. March 23 liver resection and 12 rounds of chemo
6. August 23 Cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC
7. August 24 7 rounds of chemo
8. January 26 2nd Cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC

She has also been integrating many more therapies - Cheri is a researcher - she floors me.

Basically though - something different has to be tried. Her family needs her and We. Do. Too.
They've never asked for anything. But after 5 years, they need help.

Update on care——- from Cheri

"I have minimal residual disease, basically cancer stem cells that continue to grow despite standard of care over the last 5 years……I have been so close to putting this chapter behind me but those pesky cells just won’t leave……

After meeting with oncologist in Augusta on Friday, he can only offer the same standard of care…..chemo. Which for a lot of people works wonderful but after 5 years of doing the same thing I need a change.

I met this morning with an oncologist in Atlanta who has an integrative approach! It will be a 12 week program, low dose chemo with lots of re-purposed medications, supplements, therapies, nutrition, etc…….

No one knows the outcome but he believes I will benefit greatly from the program with the HOPE of finally becoming cancer free!

However, because this is alternative type medicine and not standard of care insurance can not be used!!"

Friends - Please help. Please share. We are raising the amount that this treatment costs. And PRAY. We have all been touched by cancer in some way and praise God there are new therapies that are saving lives - please give what you can. It is appreciated more than words can say. Thank you!!! ❤️
