Hi. I am Naomi. The beautiful woman pictured is my mother. Her name is Carol.

Carol has had a 26-year journey with cancer and is still going.

In 1999, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She needed a mastectomy and three rounds of chemo treatment. While this part did go into remission for a while, it has re-materialized in her GI tract.

The new materialization has become an issue in and of itself, resulting in not only intense pain but also a surgery requiring a colostomy bag. While still getting used to this new normal, she was suggested another set of three rounds of chemo treatment. Carol promptly refused this treatment, not wanting to relive the horrors of chemo she previously dealt with.

While she was given another option in hormone treatment for cancer, we discovered that the side effects are just the same or very similar to having chemo. This is not the life my mother envisioned for herself in her retirement years. These are the only two options offered that would be partially covered by her insurance. But there are always other options.

Carol, my mother, has found a stem cell cancer treatment option. This option would allow her to receive treatment at home without having to travel and has the least amount of negative side effects, and she is the most comfortable moving forward with this type of treatment.

Each treatment is $3,500 and we are anticipating about 10 treatments will be needed. The fundraising amount will be used to pay for these treatments and any suggested supplements or to offset any care costs during her treatment. We are currently going through the process of consulting and speaking with the doctors to administer these treatments and will update the journey as it happens.
