On October 3rd, our beloved grandmother, Bonnie aka Nanny, suffered a left parietal stroke with an acute parenchymal hemorrhage. The stroke has left her with right-sided weakness in her leg, complete paralysis in her right arm, and severe speech difficulties. While her mind is active and aware, the words that come out don’t always match what she’s trying to say, which has been heartbreaking and frustrating for her and our family to witness.

Since that day, Bonnie has been hospitalized at OLOL, where she’s been fighting through countless challenges. Her stay has been anything but easy — filled with confusion, delays, and stress. She’s tired, overwhelmed, and ready to move on to a proper rehabilitation center where she can start focusing on recovery. My mom, Sherri, has been working tirelessly with the hospital and my Nan’s insurance company to make sure she gets the care and support she truly needs.

As our family navigates this difficult time, we’re asking for help to relieve some of the financial stress. Donations will go directly toward medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and household expenses while Bonnie remains in the hospital and transitions to rehab. We want her and our family to be able to focus on her healing, not the growing stack of bills.

My Nanny is the heart of our family, and if you know her you know she is strong, loving, always willing to give to others or pray for anybody and full of life despite whatever challenges life throws her way. Seeing her fight through this has reminded us just how much she means to everyone around her. Any amount you’re able to give, or even a simple share of this page, means the world to us.
