Our sweet baby boy, Ellis, has been on a journey we never expected.
When Ellis was just 2 months old, we noticed a ridge forming across his head. After visiting his pediatrician and completing a CT scan, we were referred to a neurosurgeon. We learned that Ellis has metopic craniosynostosis, a condition where the suture in his forehead fused too early. This has caused his forehead to narrow and is restricting the natural growth of his skull and brain.
After continued monitoring and additional scans, doctors have confirmed that Ellis will need cranial vault surgery in early August. This is a major procedure involving multiple pediatric surgical teams. During surgery, his skull will be carefully reshaped to allow proper brain growth and to relieve pressure, while also placing a bone graft between his eyes to correct his hypertelorism, giving him the best chance at a healthy future. He will require intensive monitoring, blood transfusions, and several days in the PICU following the operation.
As you can imagine, this has been an emotional and overwhelming time for our family. My husband works in West Texas on a rotating schedule and does not have paid time off. During Ellis’ surgery and recovery, we are hoping he can remain home with us to support our family through this critical time.
We are humbly asking for help to ease the financial burden during this season—covering medical expenses, doctors appointments, food, fuel, and everyday needs while we focus on Ellis’ healing.
Most importantly, we ask for your prayers. We are holding tightly to faith, hope, and the belief that Ellis will come through this stronger than ever.
We are deeply grateful for every prayer, share, and donation. Your kindness and support mean more to us than words can ever express. Thank you for standing with our family and loving our sweet boy.
