Standing With Ava and Her Family During This Difficult Time

Our sweet granddaughter, Ava, just turned 2 months old on February 4th Instead of celebrating this precious milestone at home, she has been

fighting for her health in the hospital.

Ava was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a serious condition where the bile ducts are absent or damaged, preventing bile from flowing properly from the liver. She underwent surgery on Saturday, February 6th, to help restore bile flow and give her little body a chance to heal.

At first, she was doing okay and being closely monitored. But on Thursday, February 12th, doctors noticed thick, discolored fluid in her drain tube. After running labs and X-rays, they made the difficult decision to take her back into surgery. They discovered that one of her stitches had come loose and needed to be repaired.

This has been an emotional and exhausting journey for our family.
