On October 8th, 2025, after a brief visit to urgent care while on a family trip to South Carolina for what was thought to be minor symptoms, Anna was given news of a possible lesion on her ovary and was told to follow up with an OBGYN when she was back home. After several attempts at setting up appointments, Anna finally had an MRI and was referred to Dana Farber for a consultation where she was ultimately diagnosed with Stage 3 high-grade serous ovarian cancer and also had lesions on her liver, spleen, and colon. Anna was immediately scheduled for surgery on November 19th at Dana Farber for a hysterectomy and removal of lesions. After 6 and a half hours, Anna had endured a radical hysterectomy total with splenectomy, appendectomy, stripping of the right diaphragm, and ultrasound ablations of tumor nodules along with scraping the surface of the colon. This was followed by four days of recovery in the hospital and 6 weeks at home. Anna will then have to go through 6 rounds of chemotherapy to ensure all cancer cells are removed.
This brings us to today, February 28th, where Anna has completed her 4th round of chemo and is truly an inspiration to all of her friends and family. After several months of treatment while also trying to be present with her daughter Penelope and husband Ryan and receiving very little through paid family medical leave, she is still not able to go back to work.
This GoFundMe was created to help ease that burden so Anna, Ryan, and Penelope can focus on what truly matters: healing.
Donations will go toward medical expenses, treatments not fully covered by insurance, medications, travel to appointments to and from Boston, and everyday living costs during this incredibly difficult time.
No amount is too small. Whether you’re able to donate, share this page, or keep Anna in your thoughts and prayers, every bit of support means more than words can express. Let’s rally around Anna and remind her that she is not alone in this fight.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, generosity, and support.
