Help Charli, Our Brave 5-Year-Old Heart Warrior.

-Charli was born with congenital heart disease (single ventricle), asplenia, and heterotaxy. From the very start, she’s been through so much:

• Norwood procedure 4 days after birth

• G-tube placement shortly after

• Glenn procedure at 6 months

• Valve banding in 2023

• 5 heart caths so far

Now, Charli faces another heart cath with extra electrical procedures that will require much longer anesthesia than usual, as she prepares for her next major surgery: the Fontan heart procedure.

Adding to the challenge, her health insurance has been denied by TennCare, which claims the family makes “too much” on a single income. Efforts to qualify through Katie Beckett have failed twice, despite Charli being clearly disabled. Advocates, lawyers, and even the governor’s office are involved—but coverage still isn’t approved.
