Hope and a Home for the Holidays

Hi my best friends name is Jan and she has 5 kids, her youngest is 6 and he has musclar dystrophy lama 2 and is autistic. Jan's ex-boyfriend decided to commit arson to their house. The kids all made it out safely, luckily! He is currently incarcerated and waiting for sentencing.

So, they ended up receiving insurance money to fix the damages. Jan's mother Jackie hires her best friends brother to do the work. Well, over a period of 6 months, the homeless family lived in hotels and they patiently awaited for the house to be finished. Well, the man, Charles "Chuck" Bloomquist, was "fixing" the house, ended up taking the money and did only God knows what with the insurance money. We can only assume.

Next, the insurance company was done helping to pay for the hotels rooms. The entire family are now crammed into Jan's mom Jackie's house. Jan decided to keep 1 room. The other night she was at hotel and tried getting into the room. The hotel said she needed to pay $1000 to get in the room for her stuff. The stuff was all new decor for the house. So now she lost all of that too because they keep upping the price of the room and cannot afford it.

Lastly, Jan's mother, Jackie woke up the other day and came down her stairs and had a severe panic attack which landed her in the hospital. She feels very responsible for all of this and is overwhelmed with Jan and her 5 kids staying in her house..all she has been doing is crying.

Buffalo is known as the city of good neighbors. And we are!!!! Buffalonians are some of the most giving and caring people. Please this time of year is a beautiful time of year but this family can't decorate or enjoy Christmas in their own home. If you can, please find it in your heart to help this family!!!
