Hope After Life Support

She was confirmed dead on November 15th 2017 from a short stay in the hospital due to pneumonia which led to multiple organ failure. At the Georgetown University Washington DC, through prayers and medical, after pruning her for hours she was revived and put on the Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) LIFE SUPPORT MACHINE.  Since 2017 she has been a great fighter! She overcame ECMO after 100 days , but the real battle had just begun! She has had multiple procedures done , weaning process off of the tracheostomy ventilator and even had chest tubes put in and much more. Eventually and thankfully to God and the doctors at the UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND BALTIMORE, she got out of hospital / rehabilitation in February 2019.  She has had a stable stay at home while on minimal oxygen in the house but On May 26th 2019, she started feeling not too good and an  ambulance came to pick her to the hospital. 


Her name is OLORUNTOSIN FASHANU. I am ADEDAYO FASHANU, her sister and organizer of this fundraiser. On Saturday May 25th 1019 while we were hanging out at home, she said she was ready to share her story.  She started her Instagram page @oloruntosinfashanu on that day. She wants the world to know of her story of recovery and hope especially the possibility of being able to survive ECMO and successfully weaned off of ventilator.

I am starting this fundraiser while sitting in the lobby of the hospital on May 26th 2019. We need the financial support to cover medical, family support and up-care as we dedicate our time towards her recovery, your donation will help alleviate financial stress and worries. She  lost her job due to long stay at the hospital and now we need to raise money to ensure best care. At this point I am not sure of her prognosis but will update the page going forward! 

 To anyone dealing with a similar trial and to families who may have a loved one facing a debilitating health challenge , we are here to say that there is HOPE and WE TOO ARE NOT GIVING UP!
