My name is Madison Reid, and I am honored to serve as Ms. Wheelchair Michigan 2026. I am a 22-year-old from Metro Detroit, and I sit before the world not as a victim, but as a survivor, advocate, and living proof that there is Hope After Harm.

In 2024, my life changed forever when I survived a domestic violence and gun violence incident involving my then-boyfriend. Without warning, his actions left me paralyzed. Instead of allowing tragedy to define me, I chose to turn my pain into purpose. Through my platform, Hope After Harm, I advocate for the disability community, survivors of domestic and gun violence, and healthier solutions to violence and conflict.

Violence is not isolated to Michigan; it affects individuals and families across the world. My goal is to use my voice to inspire healing, awareness, and lasting change. This August, I have the honor of competing for Ms. Wheelchair America 2027, a national advocacy-based competition empowering women with disabilities to lead and create impact. I am asking for your support to help me get there.

Donations will help cover travel expenses, competition and registration fees, lodging and accessibility accommodations, and advocacy and publication materials. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps me continue this mission and bring Hope After Harm to a national stage. Thank you for believing in me, supporting my journey, and helping me turn pain into purpose.

"What was meant to break me became the reason others learned they could survive too, because after every storm, there is still Hope After Harm."
