Hoops for the Homeless
On July 14th, in Marietta, Georgia I saw a man, his wife, and their three children asking people for food and money. I witnessed them ask a man passing and he replied, “No, I have more important people to take care of.” After watching that I couldn’t eat my food knowing they probably wouldn’t eat that day. So I gave them my food, it wasn’t enough for all of them but I wanted them to know someone cared and for the rest of the night it was all I could think about. This is where this idea came from to use something that I love to help those in need. In late September, I will be holding the first annual “Hoop for the Homeless”. This event will allow the Shore Conference's best players to play their part and have an impact on the community. The event will feature a three point and dunk contest along with two all-star games. All of the donations and profits will be donated to help poverty in the tri-state. Please come out and make a difference while being apart of experience of a lifetime.
