We are a group of five filmmakers, from the University of Bristol in the final year of our Film and Television degree. We need your help to make our Graduate Practical Project: Hook, Line, and Sinker.
Our film is an eerie fictional drama. We follow Tiggy, a curious journalist, who is collecting data for her piece on Cornwall during the off-season. When she stays with her Uncle Jowan, a fisherman who has been shaped by the wind and the waves, she uncovers a deeper mystery about Cornish folklore.
Hook, Line, and Sinker is an important story to tell because we want to keep folklore tales relevant. These stories are passed down through generations, connecting us to communities and their heritage. At the heart of our story is the growing relationship between Tiggy and Jowan, as they form a deeper understanding of one another when investigating the seaside town and history beneath the waves.
Our team is keen to be experimental and ambitious in our filmmaking process, taking dynamic risks to tell an intimate story between two people, their familial bond and the pull of the sea. Your donations will enable us to pay our actors fairly, fund cast and crew transport, equipment rental, catering and set design.
Sustainability is central to our filmmaking process. Our production is functioning in Cornwall and Bristol and we want to make a conscious effort to take care of our surroundings and reduce our carbon footprint, by adhering to the Albert production guidelines and protocols to help achieve a sustainable production.
We are really excited about the story we have to tell and would be very grateful for any donations and support to help us make our short film.
Thank you!
Freya, Cooper, Tom, Matt and Arthur
