Hoofing it for the Hospice (Donegal) in Memory of our Jackie

Donation protected
Hello Everyone, as I'm sure most of you all know, but we're 'The Lynchs'.
It all started a long time ago, 42 years to be precise, when our beautiful mammy, Jacqueline (better known as wee Jackie) met a very handsome young man Paddy and they fell in love. They got married and had the luckiest four children, Orla, Conor, Aoibheann and Maire. They raised a family in a loving home, full of laughter and fun. Giving us the best start to life and the greatest memories that we will cherish forever. Our weekends were always filled with fun adventures, you would never know where you would find us next.
Unfortunately on the 19th May 2023 our whole world was turned upside down when Jackie, at the young age of 56 was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer). An inoperable and incurable tumor, the best outcome was 6 weeks of treatment to try and put the tumour to sleep, hoping to buy us as much time as possible. Jackie faced the coming months with such bravey and strength, only ever worrying about 'Paddy and the waines'.
Sadly after a short but very courageous fight, wee lost our wee mammy on the 15th December 2023. Our family has been through complete turmoil, watching someone you love so dearly, who was so fit and healthy be dealt the worst cards. Jackie has been taken from us far too soon, although in her short life here, she lived a fun filled life, always putting her family first and made such an impact on anyone she met. They all loved her dearly.

Mammy & Daddy (Paddy & Jackie) had BIG plans, their live was only getting started, their bucket list ready to go. As a very adventurous couple, who loved weekends away in their camper-van hiking the beautiful hills of Donegal, they had big plans to go to Europe and hike there too.
The Camino Walk was just one of the many things on their bucket list, and on Wednesday the 5th June, our brave daddy will be flying into Porto, Portugal to begin his first leg of the journey on Thursday 6th June. Daddy will walk 280km from Porto to Santiago, Spain, in loving memory of his amazing wife and best friend. He will complete this walk over 10-12 days, clocking an avergae 25km a day. Braving many challenges and weather conditions along the way.

While doing this, we thought, why not raise money to give back to those who helped Jackie through her battle with cancer. Without the help of these wonderful services and people we would have been lost. We will be forever grateful for the care and compassion they showed our Mammy. Firstly the Donegal Hospice, who came to visit Mammy at home, and assist us with any additional care we needed. Raphoe Surgery, who were so helpful and guided us with anything we needed or the services we required and sadly as the surgery cannot accept charitable donations their charity of choice is the Bumbleance Charity who transfers children comfortably in their time of need to and from hospital, treatments and hospice care. Stranolar Amblance Service, for the upmost respect and dignity they showed on any occasion that we needed them. And finally, Altagalvin A&E department. The doctors and nurse we encountered on our journey with mammy, were beyond amazing . They looked after our Mammy to the highest of standard and when that horrible time came, they cared for us as a family better than we could have ever hoped for.

So Please, we would be so thankful if you could leave a donation, no matter how small and some words of support for our Daddy. You never know what tomorrow brings and you might need these services.
