Honywood School Support

Honywood School in Coggeshall, Essex has been prioritised as one of the schools in the UK the hardest hit by the RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) crisis.

With 22 classrooms and multiple administration offices and rooms condemned, Honywood has lost half of its space. Only three of the five cohorts are able to access the school at any given time. Students have had to return to remote learning.

Schools only learned their classrooms would be closed on August 30th.

This will affect students' learning and their mental health.

Honywood have been proactive about finding solutions and are working towards getting the whole student body back onto the school property ASAP. It is hoped that funding will come from the government but there are additional costs that will not be met that we are looking for help to support:

Remote learning tools,

Additional toilets,

Headsets for teachers conducting remote learning classes from a shared space,

Storage of equipment displaced by classrooms and offices being closed down,

Moving of large equipment to storage facilities,

Off site spaces for teaching/remote learning,

Transportation between school and off site locations and also for vulnerable students for whom remote learning at home is not an option,

And a growing list of other needs.

Honywood School community appreciates each penny you can contribute to their goal of returning all children to the classroom as quickly as possible so that their learning is not further disrupted. All money raised will be allocated by Honywood.
