HONOURING THE LIFE OF MADELINE JERUTO
Spende geschützt
It is with deep sorrow that Kenyan community in south Australia announces the untimely passing of Madeline Jeruto, a bright and promising international student from Kenya.
She hails from Chebarus Village, Ndalat Ward, Mosop Constituency in Nandi County
Madeline arrived in Australia in September 2023, full of hope and determination to pursue her studies. Unfortunately, just two weeks after arriving, she suffered a mild stroke and was admitted to hospital for urgent medical attention.
From that point on, she experienced ongoing health complications and had been in and out of hospital as she battled to recover.
Despite these efforts, Madeline’s health remained fragile, and on June 26, 2025, she tragically passed away following a sudden cardiac arrest. She was admitted to the ICU at Royal Adelaide Hospital, but medical efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Her passing is a heartbreaking loss not only to her family and friends but to the entire Kenyan and wider African diaspora community in Australia.
Madeline was known for her humility, discipline, and drive qualities that inspired those around her.
As the community mourns this devastating loss, Kitwek South Australia is appealing for emotional and financial support to help repatriate Madeline’s body back home to Kenya.
The total repatriation cost to Kenya is estimated at $45,000, which will cover the funeral expenses, flight arrangements, documentation, and other logistics necessary to ensure she is given a dignified farewell among her loved ones.
We kindly request your support during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go a long way in helping us reach this target. Let us come together to honour Madeline's memory and ensure she is laid to rest with the respect and love she deserves.
May God comfort her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. May Madeline Jeruto rest in eternal peace
