It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the sudden and tragic loss of Sean Dodds.

Sean was so much more than words can capture. He was a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a friend—and truly a larger-than-life presence in every sense. At 6’10”, he was a big teddy bear with an even bigger heart.

He was the kind of person who gave without ever thinking twice. He quietly helped so many people—whether it was supporting kids in sports who couldn’t afford it, helping someone through a hard time, or simply showing up when it mattered most. His generosity was unmatched, and he never asked for anything in return.

Sean was also a father figure to so many. So many of us called him “Dad” or “Poppa Dodds”—if you know, you know. There was truly no one like him, and there never will be.

He gave and gave and gave, always putting others before himself. He was the kind of person who would pull you out of any struggle without hesitation, expecting nothing in return. To so many of us, he was a hero. To me, he was my hero. I’ve never had someone be that good to me, and I know so many others feel the exact same way.

Anyone who knew Sean has a story about him—about his kindness, his humour, his presence. He was deeply loved by so many and leaves behind a legacy of generosity and love that will never be forgotten.

We loved him to our core, and I know the whole world is shaken right now. For anyone who knew him, there is a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.

This tragedy has devastated our family beyond words. It still doesn’t feel real. It feels like a nightmare we can’t wake up from, and something that should have never happened.

We are reaching out for support during this incredibly difficult time. With his sudden passing, the family is now facing unexpected financial burdens, including funeral expenses and other obligations.
