Honouring Mick's Legacy

The news of the passing of Mr Michael “Mick” Hollingworth has rocked the Westgold family and mining community leaving the Hollingworth family devastated.

Mick will forever be remembered as a man of the people who never shied away from having a genuine chat with everyone he met, wanting to know about their families, their interests and what drives them. This time taken forged strong bonds between Mick’s peers and team members with him becoming a mentor and friend to many.

Mick was courageous throughout his battles and you could not find a more positive person that behind the scenes was dealing with a diagnosis that would have him undergo extensive treatment in the hope of living a long and healthy life.

In addition to the friends Mick left behind is a family that is feeling the ultimate loss of a father and husband. Mick’s family ties extend back to New Zealand, across to New South Wales and here in Perth where Mick’s wife Sandy is holding tight onto Thomas and Bella.

Mick always spoke of his family with extreme pride and it is our hope that this family can be supported in all ways during this tough time, including financially.

Many have spoken of the helplessness felt and desire to help out the Hollingworth family. This fund has been set up to provide you an opportunity to assist Sandy and the kids and honour Mick’s legacy of caring for family above all else.
