Luna was deeply loved by so many, and her passing has left an enormous hole in our hearts.

Thank you to everyone who has sent love and condolences to us. Seeing how many people cared about Luna and felt her impact has truly helped us begin to come to terms with losing her. She made a difference in many lives and did more in her four short years than most dogs do in a lifetime.

On Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, we had to say goodbye to Luna. She was surrounded by love and spent her final moments enjoying treats with her mom and dad. While Luna’s spirit wanted to keep fighting, her body ultimately failed her.

Over the last few days of her life, Luna received emergency care at two emergency veterinary hospitals. Every possible option was explored, and her veterinarians fought for her right until the very end. Unfortunately, the complications she developed became too much for her to overcome.

The total cost of her emergency care exceeded $8,000. We did not have pet insurance, and as a self-employed household, we were forced to take out a high-interest instant loan to give Luna the care she deserved. We would make that same decision again without hesitation.

Many people have reached out asking how they can help. While donations are absolutely not expected, we’ve created this GoFundMe for anyone who wishes to contribute toward the vet bills incurred while trying to save Luna.

Luna was only 4 years and 4 months old, but she lived a full, joyful life. She had a rare ability to connect with people in ways many cannot, and she left her mark not only on us, but on everyone lucky enough to know her.
