My heart is broken for my friend and family Leighanne who has recently lost her partner of 13 years to suicide. His passing was sudden and devastating, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply.

Leighanne is now navigating unimaginable grief not only for herself, but for her children, while also facing unexpected financial burdens. This loss has changed everything.

Her children loved him endlessly. For over a decade, he was an incredibly selfless, loving, and kind partner and stepfather. He gave so much of himself to others, including opening his home to my family for months when we were finding our footing. That’s just the kind of person he was.

Luc was one of the hardest working people you could ever meet. He took pride in providing for his family. In recent months, he had fallen on hard times after being out of work since February. Despite having worked consistently, a period of employment in the U.S. left him ineligible for Employment Insurance here in Canada a frustrating and heartbreaking gap that left him without support when he needed it most.

Donations will support things like cremation and memorial expenses, counseling for the family, and day to day expenses during this incredibly difficult time. Most importantly, this will give her the space to focus on healing and being there for her kids.
