Kyle Has Been Found and Brought Home ️
After three heartbreaking weeks of uncertainty and holding onto hope, Kyle has finally been found and brought home to his family and loved ones.
Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART), who travelled from Manitoba to help with the search, Kyle was brought home yesterday. We are forever grateful to these incredible gentlemen for their kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Truly angels on earth.
While there is an overwhelming sense of gratitude that Kyle has been brought home, our hearts are absolutely broken that he is no longer with us.
Kyle was truly one of a kind. His contagious laugh, infectious smile, genuine kindness, and heart of gold touched so many lives. He was a light to those around him, a breath of fresh air, and someone who brought laughter, joy, and warmth wherever he went.
The outpouring of love, kindness, and support throughout these past few weeks has been a true testament to the incredible person Kyle was and just how deeply he was loved.
To everyone who searched, donated, shared, prayed, offered help, or held Kyle and his loved ones in their hearts, thank you from the bottom of ours.
And now, more than ever, we hope that love and support will continue.
While the search for Kyle has come to an end, there are incredibly difficult days ahead for his family and loved ones. Nothing can take away the heartbreak of losing someone so deeply loved, but together, we can help ease some of the burdens they may face as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser so we can continue to surround Kyle’s loved ones with the care and support they deserve.
It truly takes a village.
Rest peacefully, Kyle. Your light, your laughter, and the love you gave so freely will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known you.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten. ️

UPDATE – October 13, 2026
Today marks three weeks since Kyle went missing on Okanagan Lake. Three incredibly long and heartbreaking weeks filled with uncertainty, hope, and an overwhelming amount of love and support from our community.
Kyle's story has reached the hearts of some truly incredible people.
The Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART), based out of Morris, Manitoba, heard about Kyle's disappearance and reached out wanting to help.
With the blessing of Kyle's family, a team of four is now making the journey from Manitoba to Kelowna to assist in the ongoing search for Kyle. They are expected to arrive tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14.
Words cannot express how grateful we are that these individuals are willing to travel such a tremendous distance, giving their time, resources, and expertise to help a family and community they have never met.
Three weeks is a long time to be waiting for answers, and while the uncertainty has been incredibly difficult, the kindness and generosity of people like the HEART team remind us just how much good there is in this world.
We are so incredibly thankful to HEART for stepping forward and to every single person who continues to share his story, offer support, and keep Kyle in their thoughts.
We continue to hope for answers and, above all, for Kyle to be brought home to those who love him.
Thank you for continuing to stand alongside Kyle's family and friends. Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more than words could ever express.
Let's keep sharing Kyle's story. Let's keep supporting his loved ones. And let's give this incredible team the warmest welcome to Kelowna.

For nearly a week, family, friends, and community have been living through the unimaginable as we continue to wait for answers following the disappearance of Kyle Yrjola during a paddleboarding incident on Okanagan Lake in Kelowna, BC.
While we continue to hold onto hope, we also want to surround Kyle's family and those closest to him with as much love and support as possible during this incredibly heartbreaking and uncertain time.
If you know Kyle, you know how difficult it is to put into words just how special he is.
Kyle is a connector, a constant, and a light in the lives of so many people. He is the person who always has a smile for you, whose laugh you can't help but join in on, and who makes people feel welcome simply by being himself. His kindness is simply part of who he is. Kyle has a way of bringing people together, making people laugh, and making the people around him feel seen and cared for.
To know Kyle is to know a genuinely kind soul and a truly amazing human being.
The number of people who love him, are searching for him, sharing his story, checking in on one another, telling stories about him, and continuing to hold onto hope, reflects the impact Kyle has had on so many lives.
As the days continue, there are also practical and financial realities that no family should have to navigate alone during something like this. This fundraiser has been created to help ease that burden for Kyle's loved ones, including costs associated with this ongoing situation and, should they become necessary, memorial and funeral expenses and other related costs.
Our goal is simple: Whatever comes next, we want Kyle's family and loved ones to be able to focus on one another rather than worrying about the financial burden surrounding them.
Above all, we want Kyle and the people who love him most to be surrounded by the same love, generosity, and kindness that he has given so freely to others.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser, continuing to share Kyle's story, and keeping Kyle, his family, and his many friends in your thoughts means more then we can say.
Kyle has been a light to so many of us. Our hope is that together, we can now be a light for him and for the all his loved ones.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and love for Kyle.
