Honouring Jennifer's life & raising awareness about femicide

Donation protected
This is for my sister -- Jennifer Provençal -- who went missing from her home in British Columbia, Canada, in February 2025. In September, 2025, RCMP Major Crimes took over the file and deemed my sister's disappearance suspicious. Foul play is suspected (more info is on the website that I made for my sister) . Sadly, it no longer appears that my sister is alive.

***My request is for a donation of $20-$100, if you can spare it. ***

This GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds to honour Jennifer's life and to raise awareness about violence against women and girls. There are three fundraising goals:

The first goal is for $3000 to adopt a Douglas Fir tree in VanDusen Gardens as part of their "adopt-a-tree" program (in 2025, if possible). Jennifer has always had a love for trees. For their beauty, their majesty, their strength, and for what they give to us all -- the air we breathe and a sense of calm and peace. Adopting a tree would give those of us who love and miss Jennifer a place to heal and spend time with Jennifer in spirit.

The second goal is for $4000 to work with the arts, culture and recreation groups in the District of 100 Mile House on a project to honour my sister's life and to raise awareness about violence against women and girls. I will be seeking input on what this project should be from members of the local community that my sister called home for almost 20 years.

The third goal is for $10,000 for a commemorative bench on the Burnaby campus of Simon Fraser University (SFU). The first time that Jennifer visited me in BC, she visited SFU's Burnaby campus. I admit, I was gently trying to persuade her to move to British Columbia, and the beauty of the campus was on my side. Jennifer completed her Bachelor's degree at SFU. She owned her first business on campus (selling her own jewellery and other crafts). Jennifer and I grew up with a love for books, for learning, for the contemplative life. The bench at SFU would honour Jennifer's life and raise awareness about femicide.

This is my first GoFundMe campaign and I am not sure what else to say, other than, please give only what you comfortably can. I know that finances are tight for almost everyone and I don't want this campaign for support to be a strain on anyone.

>>> Please disregard the GoFundMe platform's amounts for suggested donations (I am not able to change this on my GoFundMe page and I would never suggest such high amounts).
