Honouring Daniel's life and legacy

Daniel Fenton died suddenly in his sleep on Sunday 16th of November at the young age of 65.

He will be remembered by most as the friendly man who worked in Tesco Dundalk. He was always found with a dustpan and brush in his hand and a friendly hello to those who crossed paths with him each day.

His family will remember him as the hard working caring gentleman who loved his Wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Daniel loved life and enjoyed the little things, going to work, chatting to members of the public, colleagues and friends, meeting friends for coffee, going to the cinema, to concerts and football matches as well as holidays with his family.

Running was his favorite pass time. Sticking in his headphones and going for a run happened most days for over 40years. He was a member of the North East Running Club since the early days of its formation and ran many marathons and races in his time. He completed 234 park runs in Dundalk and volunteered at the Junior Park Run over 40 times.

Running wasn’t just a hobby for Daniel; it formed a huge part of his identity. He made many friends along the way and always encouraged those around him to get out and move.

His family are devastated to have lost him and would like to do something in his name for the local community.

We have set up this Go Fund me to raise money for his grandsons athletics club and the local park run two areas that were close to Daniels heart and who would benefit from extra money.

Your donation—no matter the size—will help carry forward Daniel’s passion for running and community.

Thank you for taking the time to read Daniels story and for your donation.

Daniels Months Mind Mass will take place Sunday 14th of Dec at 10.30 in Holy Family Parish Muirhevnamor. This page will close on that day and money's raised will be given to the local running clubs.
