Honoring Bryce Masuk — Support for His Celebration of Life & Unexpected Costs

Last month, my son’s father, Bryce Masuk, passed away after a courageous battle with ALS. For the past three years, his loving mother, Theo, was his full-time caregiver, walking beside him every step of the way with unwavering strength and devotion.

In the end, Bryce made the brave and deeply personal choice to use MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying). Theo was told at the time that his body would be cared for and transported for autopsy. But after his passing, she was unexpectedly informed that she would need to arrange and pay for the transport herself. She managed to get him where he needed to go — but it came at a significant and unforeseen cost of $3,300, which had to be put on her credit card. This amount has gone toward both the transport of his body and essential funeral-related expenses.

This GoFundMe has been created with two heartfelt goals:

* To help Theo cover the $3,300 spent on Bryce’s body transport and funeral costs

* To raise funds for his upcoming Celebration of Life, where we can gather in love to honor and remember the incredible person he was.

Theo is now navigating her grief while trying to plan a memorial that reflects the beautiful soul Bryce was. She’s retired and facing not only emotional strain but financial stress that no grieving parent should have to bear alone. We would love to take some of that weight off her shoulders.

Bryce was a beloved son, a devoted father, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. His presence, kindness, and humor touched many lives. We are deeply saddened by his loss, but we hold his memory close in our hearts.
