Honors Orchestra Performance at Carnegie Hall

Hello, my name is Grayson Fitzgerald, and I've been studying music for five years. I am a member of my school’s highest Instrumental Music Groups: Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (where I play the String Bass), as well as the Jazz Band (where I play guitar).

This year, I've had the amazing experience of being selected to participate in the All State and All Southern Honors Orchestras in California. I've now been honored to have received a special invitation, by merit nomination, to participate in a National Youth Honor Orchestra performance at Carnegie Hall this Summer.

I will join student performers from 39 United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada for a special performance at the world-famous Carnegie Hall, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement.

All of the Junior Finalists selected will come together in New York City for five days in June. We will have the opportunity to learn from world-renowned conductors, work with other Junior Finalists, and get a taste of New York City.

The invitation to perform with fellow musicians from around the world at Carnegie Hall is an amazing way to end this school year, close out my Middle School experience, and really celebrate the return to performing music in person. I feel so incredibly honored and excited to participate, and I can’t wait to experience Carnegie Hall, New York City, and for all the opportunities to come that playing music will bring throughout my life.

Even with the generous scholarship I've been offered, the trip will still cost over $2,500, not including the flights.
