Honors Across State Borders 18-19

We are a group of 52 students from UConn who have a passion for affordable housing! After hosting monthly meetings and small group discussions where we learn about this issue, why it matters and how we can help, we drive in a bus down to a community and spend our spring break volunteering there with the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. This year, well be going to Burke County, North Carolina and helping to frame some new Habitat homes and restore another.

Affordable housing matters to us because we think it is the basis for a healthy, happy life and can finally give families a hand up to overcome undue hardship. Donating will help fund our trip costs, like our housing and food for the week, and our bus rides to and from North Carolina. Any extra funds will be donated to the Habitat chapter we will be working with this spring! Thank you so much for your help and support in our efforts to serve our neighbors in need!
