About CHC
The Community and Health Center (CHC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization registered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with active programs serving the community of Kanye, Botswana.
For the past seven years, CHC has grown into a vital resource for underserved families, offering:
• Health and wellness services
• Drug and alcohol prevention and treatment referrals
• Counseling and behavioral health support
• Community activities for youth and elders
• Essential services for impoverished households
As the community grows, so does the need for access to these critical resources.

Founded in Love and Service
CHC was founded by Matlhatso Kesupile Reed, a nurse and behavioral health psychotherapist who dedicated her life to serving humanity. Her compassion, leadership, and unwavering belief in helping others shaped every part of CHC’s mission.
She was supported by her husband, Samuel A. Reed III, a teacher and business consultant. Together, they built a foundation that continues to uplift the community.
