Zach Matheson unexpectedly passed on from this world on February 3rd, 2026. A truly devastating loss for family and friends, and the peninsula community. 

Zach made friends easily, anywhere he went, and was a vital, endearing, and comforting presence to everyone who had the privilege to spend time with him. He was a prolific artist, talented baker, loving uncle and brother, and adored neighbor. He was an incredibly generous and authentic person, and his absence will be profoundly felt across many places on this earth.

In the wake of his departure, his wife Mariam is in need of assistance to cover his funeral costs and her continued day-to-day living expenses.

As one of his many passions, Zach spent as much time as he could in the forest, and it's Mariam's wish that Zach's remains be converted to compost that will return his physical form to nature. 

Anyone who knew Zach knows how deeply he loved Mariam, his love and life for the past fifteen years. She was the person he loved most in this world, and your contribution will go towards helping her navigate the already uncertain waters of the future. Thank you for anything you're able to help with.
