In Loving Memory of Zac Chunko: A Life Well-Lived
Donation protected
With heavy hearts, we remember Zac Chunko, an extraordinary individual from the Lehigh Valley. Known to everyone as Chunko, he touched so many lives with his infectious spirit and generosity. Chunko was a beacon of kindness and a testament to living life fully.
Zac’s love for skateboarding was boundless and undeniable. He embraced both the conventional and unconventional aspects of the sport, always pushing boundaries and inspiring others to do the same. His energy and encouragement were ever-present, and we can almost hear him now, telling us to “do it switch, pu**y.”
He was a dedicated worker, a lover of physical growth and exercise, and a curious intellect with an immense wealth of knowledge about the world. Zac had a unique personality—loud, lively, and filled with a crass sense of humor. He had an unparalleled ability to make people laugh and feel at ease, using humor as a way to forge deeper connections and challenge people to step out of their comfort zones. His love for animals, especially cats, was well-known, and his musical talents were equally impressive, especially excelling in stringed and keyed instruments.
His unique mind was always searching for new achievements, and his love of languages led him to learn the basics of Japanese, Russian, Korean, and Spanish. He also had a knack for physics and architecture, which is evident in the ramps he built - including a mini-ramp in his living room! For most of his adult life, he worked for the post office, first as a rural carrier, then as a city carrier, and never forgot a customer, an address, or the dogs on his routes. He went above and beyond in everything he did, and left a lasting impression as “The Mailman.”
Despite his vibrant exterior, Zac faced worldly demons and struggled with depression and alcoholism, deeply affected by past tragedies. Yet, through it all, he remained a beacon of love and generosity. He demonstrated incredible strength and resilience, with moments of triumph and self-awareness that reflected his enduring spirit.
In a final act of selflessness, Zac chose to donate his organs, including his heart, which was promptly and urgently transplanted and will continue to beat through another's precious lifetime. This profound gift of life continues his legacy of giving and compassion.
We’re setting up this GoFundMe to honor Zac’s memory and support his family during this difficult time. Your contributions will help cover expenses and celebrate the life of a remarkable individual who gave so much to those around him.
Thank you for joining us in remembering Zac and supporting his family. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.
