We are proud to announce the creation of the William “Tootie” Carter Memorial Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the life and legacy of Coach Carter—the first Black head football coach in West Virginia.

Coach Carter’s impact stretched far beyond the football field. As a coach, educator, and leader, he inspired generations of students, athletes, and community members. 

Our mission is to honor that legacy by preserving his story, educating and inspiring future generations, and establishing a public memorial in his name.
