Help Us Honor William “BJ” Smith

We are raising funds to help cover the memorial expenses for William “BJ” Smith, who passed away on September 5, 2025, after battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

BJ was someone who brought energy, laughter, and connection into the lives of everyone around him. He had a unique sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, and he always made an effort to show up for the people he cared about—whether it was organizing gatherings or simply reaching out on an important day.

Music was a huge part of BJ’s life. From teaching and performing to playing guitar for over 30 years, he truly loved being part of the creative process. He was proud of his journey, including his high school band The Swing Kids, his ska band JTS, and playing with Taylor & 9th alongside close friends.

He was also known in the UK Hard House/HRDNRG scene as DJ Aklaim, performing at events in front of thousands of people over the years.

BJ was a dedicated fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and was rarely seen without his LA Dodgers hat. Through his love for the team, he built meaningful friendships on "Dodger Twitter" and created meaningful connections over the years.

Above all, BJ valued time with the people he loved—his son Max, his friends who were like family, and his girlfriend, Yoli.

BJ did not have immediate family to assist with memorial expenses, and we are asking for support from the community of friends and loved ones whose lives he touched.
