Honoring Wendy Whitlock’s Legacy

Wendy Whitlock was a beloved friend, a passionate member of the Blues Music and Roller Derby communities, and a shining light to everyone who knew her.

As a member of the Capital Area Blues Society (CABS), Wendy served on the Board of Directors and brought her love for blues music to the airwaves as the host of her own radio show on Lansing Community College’s station. Her voice and enthusiasm for the genre brought joy to countless listeners and left a lasting mark on the local music scene.

Wendy’s vibrant spirit also found a home with the Mitten Mavens Roller Derby team, where she served as a non-skating officiant under her spirited derby name, “Meow Kapow.” Her charismatic personality and dedication made her a cherished part of the team, always supporting others and spreading positivity wherever she went.

Wendy’s warmth, radiant smile, and generous heart touched everyone she met, and her presence was truly a gift.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Buddies Pub, 2040 N Aurelius Rd., Holt, MI 48842 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 pm. There will be a time of sharing memories at 1:00 p.m, followed by socializing and snacks.

Funds raised by this Go Fund Me will help cover funeral expenses, the celebration of life, and a headstone to honor Wendy’s memory. Any additional support will be donated to the Capital Area Humane Society, reflecting Wendy’s deep love for animals and her cherished pets, Mr. Flynn and Monkey.

By coming together, we can celebrate Wendy’s legacy and ensure her kindness and passion continue to inspire others.
