Honoring Wayne Fike, A Hero to So Many...
Wayne Fike, a gentle and humble man of many talents, left this earth on Friday July 31. Wayne died suddenly and unexpectedly, and the hole left from his passing is immense. Wayne spent his life spreading happiness through his lovable nature and constant cheerful demeanor. Countless people considered Wayne to be their personal hero because of the amazing way he showed up in their lives through the years.
Wayne was the Maintenance Director at The Village at Primacy Place, an assisted living facility in Memphis, TN. On any given day, you would find Wayne with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He truly loved his job and the people he came into contact with in his daily work responsibilities .
Wayne found joy in connecting with other people. He was dedicated to being of service to anyone in need and he offered loving kindness to all of the residents, their families, and the staff.
After the lockdown for the Covid pandemic, Wayne stepped up to go above and beyond in the support he provided. Wayne knew that the residents would miss seeing their families and friends due to being isolated inside the facility. He found special ways to make this situation better for the residents and their families. When one of the residents TV quit working, Wayne and another staff member picked up a new TV from the store and set it up for the resident because the family could not enter the facility. Indeed, this is just one of hundreds of stories about Wayne's dedication to the service of others as he went through his life living by his faith.
Wayne adored his grandchildren and was continually amused and enthralled by their antics and accomplishments. He never stopped smiling when he was with them. Wayne also enjoyed participating on his son-in-law's BBQ team. He loved working behind the scenes to help test new recipes and presentations for their entries.

Wayne is proceeded in death by his wife, Elizabeth and his parents. Wayne leaves behind 4 children, 5 grandchildren, 5 siblings, and many other family and friends.
