In memory of Violeta Arzeta Mendez
It is with deep heartache and sadness, and in love eternal that our family bands together to bid farewell to our beautiful sister, mother, and daughter Violeta. We thank all of our loved ones and those who were close to Violeta who are asking how they can help in this bleak time. We are forever grateful for the warmth and kindness that you all have shown us.
Violeta was equal parts funny, mean, sarcastic, smart, beautiful, bratty, loyal, loving, and everything else in this world that flavors the soul of wonderful human being. Like a buzzing bee from flower to flower she would spread her infectious sweetness to everyone she encountered. Like the Leo that she is, she would fiercely demolish anyone standing between her and her loved ones. In youth, at our home, Violet would call us from her house filled with the sound in the background of her three beautiful daughters, Noemi, Nicole, and Natalia, to either gossip about everyone we knew or to tell us the the plot of the latest movie she had seen. Her gift of story-telling has never been matched. I imagine that in heaven right now the angels are bent over laughing, crying, and retelling the stories that she's telling them about all of us on earth -- good AND bad!
In the morning of October 27th, the rhythm of Violeta's heart finally found rest, though her magic can never be extinguished. Violeta will be honored during a private ceremony with close family members in attendance.
Violeta is survived by her brothers Luis, Omar, Edgar, Edwin, her sister Lindsay; her children Noemi, Nicole, Natalia, David; and the powerful matriarch of our family Maria. She leaves behind a trail of cousins, friends, and people touched by her spirit.
Our intention through this fundraiser is to give chance to those who have expressed a wish to help ease the financial burden of the sudden funerary costs associated with the burial. As an alternative, a donation can be made in Violeta's honor to the non-profit organization Project Kinship whose mission is to support and provide training to those who have been affected by incarceration, gangs, and violence. We will be accepting donations as long as this is up, but only until the funeral which will take place in the next week or so. Whatever is raised will paid directly to the mortuary assisting us during this trying time. If you have any questions please email [email redacted] and one of our family members will get back to you as soon as possible.
Much love and appreciation,
The Arzeta Mendez family
