Honoring Veronica Williams

Donation protected
Veronica Williams, one of the most exuberant and involved students  Chicago State and the Geography program has seen, died unexpectedly on April 1. Ms. Williams was an engaged and active member of the CSU community who will be missed throughout Chicago State and the South Side. She had a bachelor's degree in Communications, and had worked in radio for many years. She was a former Chicago State student trustee who had been active in student government at CSU as well as political organizing on the South Side. She was a member of Gamma Theta Upsilon, the Geography Honors Society, as well as multiple other campus organizations. She had also served as a resident advisor in the CSU dormitory and was active in the Rainbow-PUSH coalition. Geography, Chicago State University, and the South Side have lost a wonderful person.

Veronica’s death was very unexpected, and her family is in need of funds to pay for her funeral expenses.  The funeral is scheduled to take place Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24, so the funds are needed very quickly. Funds will be collected and then go straight to the funeral home. Any amount is appreciated.

Thank you,

Renard Singleton, Chicago State University Student Trustee
