On April 3, 2026, our family experienced the sudden and heartbreaking loss of our beloved mother, Veronica Matta—known and loved by so many as Roni and Tia Vern. She was the kind of woman who made everyone feel like they belonged. If you were in her life, you were family. Her love was loud, genuine, and constant—whether she was feeding you, making you laugh, protecting you, or simply showing up when it mattered most. The outpouring of stories and memories shared about her only confirms what we already knew—she touched countless lives in the most meaningful ways.

To us, she was everything—our strength, our peace, our home. To so many others, she was a second mom, a best friend, a protector, and the heart of every gathering. Her love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched, and her presence is something that can never be replaced. As we navigate this incredibly difficult time, we are preparing to lay her to rest with the love and dignity she deserves.
