Verenice Luna was an incredible member of the Cordova High School Lancer family. In less than a year of working in the Admin Office at CHS, the staff recognized her positive, kind, and hardworking personality by voting her as an employee of the year during the 2023-2024 school year. Both last school year and this school year, she greeted every student, parent and visitor who came into the office, regularly coordinated substitutes for a campus staffed with 100+ teachers, brought smiles to the faces of many, and has left a lasting impression on numerous students, staff and parents/guardians.

Sadly, Verenice has gone unexpectedly and too soon from us all; her passing is being felt immensely. We're rallying the Lancer family and the FCUSD community at large to support the Luna family. While we know that nothing can fill the void left by losing a loved one, we hope to ease this grievous time for Verenice's family.
