Honoring Vasil's Memory: Your Support Matters
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
This is Sopheeyka Tsapiv, Vasil's cousin. I would like to share an update from our family...
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has donated, prayed, and shared this GoFundMe. Your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time have meant more than words can express.
Every donation, message, and share has made a difference—not only in helping cover expenses, but reminding us that we are not alone in our grief. The love and compassion we’ve received have brought comfort in the midst of sorrow.
Thank you for honoring Vasil's memory with your generosity and care.
The funds raised will go to Vasil's parents, Roman and Sabrina Melnik, to help cover all funeral and memorial service expenses.
Any remaining funds will be given to Vasil's parents to help ease any future financial burdens, as both are currently out of work while grieving the loss of their son.
We are forever grateful to all of you. Because of your generous support, we are able to give Vasil the proper funeral and memorial service he deserves.

Today, July 15, 2025, we received the most devastating news. It is with a heavy heart to share the unexpected passing of our beloved family member, Vasil Melnik. Vasil was tragically taken from us earlier today and was only 16 years old. He was a cherished son, grandson, nephew and cousin, whose kindness, laughter, and strength touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
As we begin to process this devastating loss, his mother and father are faced with the financial burden of a funeral and memorial expenses. We want to honor Vasil's memory in the way he deserves, with a service that reflects the love and light he brought into this world.
We are asking for support from our friends, family, and community to help us raise funds to cover:
Funeral, burial cost and any other expenses they may occur along the way.
We are still working on Vasil's memorial service arrangements and will keep everyone updated.
No donation is too small—every bit helps and is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to give financially, please consider praying for our family and sharing this fundraiser with others.
We thank you for your love, your prayers, and your continued support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
Sopheeyka Tsapiv
