Hi everyone,
It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing that my Uncle Joe has passed away. This loss has been sudden and deeply painful, and our family is still trying to process life without him here.
What makes this even harder is that Joe lost his father (Elias Sias) just six months ago. Our family has already been carrying a lot of grief, and now we’re facing another heartbreaking loss so soon. It’s a lot to hold at once, and we’re doing our best to support one another through it.
Joe Sias, was so many things to so many people : a friend you could count on, a brother, a dad, an uncle, and the kind of family member who made you feel loved just by being near him. And if you knew him at all, you also knew he was a proud Oklahoma fan. That was pure Joe, loyal, spirited, and all-in.
Joe was the kind of person who brought comfort and laughter just by being himself. He had a way of showing up for people, and he gave the kind of love that felt steady and real. He meant so much to so many of us, and I want to make sure we honor him in a way that reflects the life he lived and the love he gave.
I created this GoFundMe to help with the unexpected expenses that come with losing someone: funeral and memorial costs, and other immediate needs, so our family can focus on grieving and being together instead of stressing over finances.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. No amount is too small. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this and keeping our family in your prayers means just as much.
And if you knew my Uncle Joe, I’d love your help with something important: please share your favorite photos of him! Especially the fun, smiley, goofy ones that feel like him. You can post them in the comments here on Facebook or in the comments on the GoFundMe page. We want to collect memories and celebrate the kind of person he was.
“A picture is worth a thousand words — and the memories are forever.”
Thank you for the love, support, and kindness you’ve shown. Every message, share, donation, and photo truly matters as we honor Joe Sias’s life.
With love,
Alexis Montes (his niece)
