Remembering the Life of Troy E. Spencer
Donation protected
On July 16th, after four days of fighting tooth and nail to recover from a global anoxic brain injury, Troy Spencer has passed away. He leaves behind a wife, three children, and three grandchildren.
Troy was born January 12th, 1970 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up and lived most of his life there. Troy loved sports and was an athlete. He was a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan and also loved the Denver Broncos. He loved spending time with family at the ballgame.
In 2019, Troy became a grandfather. He dedicated his retirement to spending time with his three grandchildren, seizing every opportunity to take them to the park, the store, the splash pad, or their favorite - the claw machine at the local grocery store.
Troy spent his life protecting those he loves from danger. Even more importantly, he protected his loved ones from sadness. He loved to laugh, but even greater was his love for making others laugh. His death came suddenly and, as is always the case when we lose someone we love, too soon.
Troy leaves behind a legacy of love that reminds us everyday how important it is to laugh, to forgive quickly and to let the hard things roll off your shoulders and focus on the positive. His legacy reminds us how important it is to protect those we love not only from danger but from sadness. His legacy is a reminder that the simple, small, seemingly innocuous events of our everyday lives add up to the profound beauty we see when we look back on the happy moments fondly and to never take a moment for granted.
We are asking for donations to help those he left behind pay for a memorial service, clear up his medical expenses and to help his family be able to take the time necessary to grieve him without financial worries. Anything helps. Thank you.
