Donation protected
Antoine "Tony" Deek, 67, has fallen asleep in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on Friday, May 16, 2025. He was born on February 20, 1958, to Geries and Sylvie (Fakes) Deek. Tony had a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Economics. Tony worked for Family Express for many years before he opened his own small business, Lucky Stop, in Michigan City, which he ran for 35 years. He cared deeply about his employees and about serving and giving back to his community. Tony served his community through membership with the Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and St. Iakovos Greek Orthodox Church, where he held a position on the council. He also volunteered with the Salvation Army and Christmas in April. A special moment in Tony’s life was during a trip to the Vatican City in 2000, where he and his wife met Pope John Paul II and received a holy blessing. Tony will be remembered as a loving, generous, and devoted husband and father, who cherished his children and held great pride in the fact that all four of his children worked hard to become dentists. Tony will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a man of great faith with a heart full of kindness, hard work ethic, and compassion. His legacy will continue to guide and inspire his family and all who knew him for generations.
On June 25, 1987, Tony married Sonia Zabaneh, who survives, along with their children: Dr. Sylvia (Samer) Zabaneh, Dr. Christine Deek-Rayan, Dr. Joseph Deek, and Dr. Michael Deek; grandchildren: Deena, Leana, Christopher, and Irene; siblings: Emil (Ola) Deek, Evon (Butros) Soussou, Antoinette Deek, and Edward Deek; brothers-in-law: Dr. Ibrahim (Irma) Zabaneh, and Ramzi (Hania) Zabaneh; and many loving nieces and nephews.
